Find My Way
Ever wonder what you want to do with your life? Does your daily work give you satsifaction? You know you want to do something meaningful, but does that earn you the living you want or need?
In Japan, there is the concept of Ikigai. According to the Wikipedia, the Oxford English Dictionary defines ikigai as "a motivating force; something or someone that gives a person a sense of purpose or a reason for living". I wrote this application to help people find Ikigai in their work life.
If you try an internet search for "Ikigai", you will likely find a Venn diagram, like the one below. Each circle will have a question which you are asked to consider:
- What You Love?
- What You Can Do To Improve The World?
- What You Can Be Paid For?
- What You Are Good At?
The idea is that if you find can commonality across your answers, you will find Ikigai. While this doesn't meet the true definition of Ikigai, I think it's a great model for finding it in your livelihood. This site helps you by suggesting intersecting career paths for you; answering the questions is hard enough!
